Spacers/Springs
Hey everyone,
Could use a little help, and hoping someone has the answer. I had spacers/springs (Swift Spring/Ichiba Spacers 17F/22R) installed on my 2010 Z alst week and am having a few issues. First the car was wobbling like crazy, this one was obvious, the stock lugs where too long and pressing against the factory rims. This problem was resolved quickly buy cutting down the factory lugs. After that the car rides much better, however I notice at higher speeds (70-80mph) that the car rides "rougher". Best way to describing it is I can tell now if I driving over an ant, and if she's pregant, and if it's twins! I'm wondering if this is normal, and would coil overs soften the ride just a bit? I'm still getting used to the "lowered" look, but would like to have a little bit more of a "softer" ride. I'm not looking for lexus/mercedes soft, but more like porsche/BMW soft. LOL Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

if your "installer" decided the proper fix for you having the WRONG type of spacer was to cut the lugs...... then id also question the springs he/she installed.
omg man, cut the lugs???? |

Not sure what you were expecting on the Swift Spec R springs, but they are much stiffer than stock springs! They are also stiffer than the Nismo but not as harsh... (more like progressive)

Coilovers aren't going to be any softer, unless you spec out a custom spring rate but then you're going to have the wrong valving. The Swifts aren't bad at all, in my opinion. Give them a week or so to "settle" and see what you think then.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I will agree my faith in the installer is less than stellar, but I'm new to the Tampa area and don't really know any good performance shops. I've asked before but never really got any reccomendations.
My next mod is an oil cooler from Z1 and I have to say I'm panicing over getting it installed, only because of what happened with this install. As for the advice on "let the springs settle", I think that's the main issue. I only drive it on the weekends and just got them done last week. Thanks again everyone for the comments, and if anyone can reccommend a good shop in/or near Tampa that can install my oil cooler I'd greatly appreciate it.

Well since getting the car in July I've had it go into "limp mode" at least 3-4 times. Plus I'm tracking it next week. I already purchased the oil cooler and it was HIGHLY reccommended by Chin Motorsports.
