Brakes pull left
Are these common problems with these cars? [LIST][*]2011 base autobought new 10 months ago; car pulls very hard left when mashing brakes at high speeds >100mph (scary).[*]Rear end bounces on high speed curves.[*]Slow downshits when in manual mode.
Great car other than the brakes. |

I have the sports package brakes and have had the same hard pull to the left. It really surprised me that's for sure!
The car doesn't do it every time so I don't know what the deal is. I think that it only happened was when I pressed the brakes quickly and firmly. I checked my tires for tread wear and made sure the tire pressure was correct. It could be the surface of the road in that area. Uneven surface or something else. Any one else have this happen to them? |

The Z's brakes are affected by conditions. Wet brakes on one side will cause a pull. A bit of rust on the rotors will result in uneven braking. Sometimes I get a pull with certain other road conditions.
If it is a consistent direction and repeatable, have it looked at. And please tell me you were not going 100 mph on a public street. |

Also a bad alignment can cause your car to pull to one side when braking. Bad front tires or one tire under/ overinflated can cause the same condition as well.

could be a bad piston in one of the calipers or a loose line. any leaks or play in the break pedal? MJB is correct, a bad alignment can cause this to happen, usually a bad front end alignment will cause slight chatter on the steering wheel.
Could the open diff cause this or the viscous since viscous LSD isnt much better then the open?? I ask because OP said this "Rear end bounces on high speed curves." Update us when you find out what it is, I personally have not had this issue |

I never had it aligned but it drives straight & smooth even at very high speeds. The brakes are fine except for some panic stops it jerks hard left into opposiing traffic. I don't think the brake shops would be willing or know how to ethically replicate this condition. Just wondering if this was a common problem with a fix? |

As stated above, could be any of a number of things, but it should be correctable. Have your alignment checked out, check suspension parts for wear/failure, check brake pads for wear, check brake pistons (are they stuck, are they excessively gunked up, are the dust seals falling apart?), flush brake fluid through the calipers a bit in case you've got some bubbles.

NO, from what i gather, this is more common than i had hoped for.. On open track I top out but hard braking before a turn (square on pavement) i get this pull as well... My thoughts: did I bend a hard line from the calipers? is this a fundamental system defect? This was tested before and after rotor and brake replacement. The car is good in all respects...

Mine pulls to the left as well albeit occasionally when coming to a stop at intersection. Has done it ever since I got the car and I've changed wheels and tires and have had alignment and it still does it.

It may have something to do with the crown in the road. Try the same test on different roads to see if anything changes. If not, it's most likely the car...
