Alignment Question

I am installing Swift Spec-R and SPC rear camber arms next week (if my clients leave me alone for a day).

My question is as follows and please forgive me if it is a dumb question. What are your recommended alignment settings? I do not track my car, but I do drive it as it is meant to be driven -- "spiritedly". Do I align to the book values?

Again, I am sorry if this is a simple question and I appreciate your thoughtful replies. Thank you.

It depends from person to person. If you want better tire wear, go by the book, if you want to have slightly better handling but slightly more tire wear you can go with more negative camber. The fronts have no camber adjustably but for the rear I say go -2.0 camber for even handling/tire wear ratio.

I'm running -1.4 in the front and -2.0 in the back and the car handles like a dream. I figured it'd be a good compromise b/w tire wear and fun. Toe is exactly the same as stock.

I haven't tried other settings though so honestly there might be a better combo out there. Good luck on the install. You'll be impressed

I agree with 370zFORme...I'm currently running F: -2.2 (with SPC front camber kit), toe = 0 and R: -2.0, toe: -0.15 deg. Works well for aggressive street/occasional track. The tire wear is very even at about 7000 km. The aggressive front camber greatly improves turn in response. i highly recommend that you get the front kit as well, Onzedge.

mr.onzedge- i'd do front toe 0.05 degrees each side, rear toe anywhere 0.15 to 0.20. :)

camber front -1.5 to -1.7 range rear -1.8 to -2.1 sounds good for street. L/R should be within 0.2 degrees and accept no thrust angle. :D

this is a great street alignment if you get a front kit and drive hard:tup:

if you don't get the front kit, the front is not adjustable, it should fall around 1.5 with swifts.

If you are gonna be driving the twisties, 0* toe front, spec for rear. With more highway use, you might do spec for front toe.

With 1.5* in the front, around 1.8* is the way to go for the rear.

I logged about 9000 miles with swifts, and tried about 15 different alignments....for fun/street use, 1.5/1.8 camber and 0/spec toe is by far the way to go. For heavier use, I like ~3/2 and 0/spec.

Thanks, everyone, for helpful (and consistent) advice.
