5.2 deg (factory) caster is perfect for the street. If I were racing i might go to less caster and more camber. Old C4 corvettes were set up for racing from the factory at 3 deg caster. Later C4's went back to higher caster I think it was 6 deg for street driving and better tire wear. Again you need a skid pad to set it up right. And that only gets you max G's. you have other dynamics under braking to the apex.
But, I like the way it handles now,

Are the Kinetix arms good?
Why are the Kinetix front arms not more popular? I think they look like a pretty sound design, and I agree that non adjustable caster should be a non issue. I think the SPC design is seriously flawed and the other manufacturers are really dragging their feet on releasing anything else. I don't want to wait for a indefinite amount of time for something else. Is there some reason the Kinetix are another bad choice?

Positive is it can't slip! If you have access to a camber gauge, I would be nice to know how much one turn changes the angle.

There is a app I have on my phone called Xclinometer it can check level + angle like camber just place a straight edge across the wheel set your phone on it that's it.

I don't know exactly right before you ck it against the straight edge there is a calibration button on it you push it and then check it.
On the app they claim it is for fun but the payed version (about 2 bucks)they claim it very accurate but no numbers were given.

Does anyone know the answer to this?
It seems like the only previous complaints on the Kinetix arms were results from contamination prematurely deteriorating the upper rod end joint. It looks like it is fully shielded now and should no longer be a problem. I'm going to order these as it looks like a solid design and I'm tired of waiting for something else. |
