Best BBK kit for the buck?

I'm looking to upgrade the stock breaks (no sport package) and I was wondering what the best BBK out there is for a good price. The sport package is $4000 here in Canada and it just wasn't worth it considering how I am replacing the wheels and spoiler.

It's over half here in the USA, Maybe mail order it from COZ or Z1 and have it installed there?

OMGWTFBBQ 09-13-2011 10:16 AM

Check out the AP Racing one?

Not bad...not ready to buy yet, but will have to remember that for when I am...6 piston front, 4 piston rear, I hope.

Jamaica 09-13-2011 08:44 PM

my correction. I actually called it in and the price has raised for both AP Racing and Stoptech

Red__Zed 09-13-2011 08:46 PM

3200 for a full set of ap would be insane if true

Jamaica 09-13-2011 08:49 PM

no the correct price is around 3700-3800 for 6/4 piston

djpathfinder 09-13-2011 08:54 PM

How about a group buy for $3200 for 6/4 since you already mentioned $3200? :stirthepot:

Jamaica 09-13-2011 08:57 PM

sure get five on the list.

djpathfinder 09-13-2011 09:07 PM

Are you serious? :excited:  How about including shipping too for our Canadian friends?

Jamaica 09-13-2011 09:12 PM

Get five and ill include shipping to US and CANADA only

MD-370z 09-13-2011 09:22 PM

hmmm very interesting... does it need to be five Canadian members?

Brazilbro 09-13-2011 10:18 PM

:excited:

Spec Jay 09-13-2011 10:59 PM

MD-370z 09-13-2011 11:23 PM

JollyGoodChap 09-14-2011 01:42 PM

I like the stoptech brake kits, wish I could afford them right now

MD-370z 09-19-2011 03:34 PM

Was this groupbuy a spur of the moment thing or is it really gonna happen?

Scott, why do you not offer the 6 pot AP racing for the 370Z? As my car is coming from your dealership, it would be convenient to have that done before I pick it up.

Scott@FontanaNissan 09-21-2011 11:28 AM

Have no fear...i can get you the 6 pots! And that can definately be arranged for ya! I will have them on the site within the hour ;)

Scott

ChrisSlicks 09-21-2011 11:53 AM

The AP's are definitely the best bang for the buck as BBK's go.

MD-370z 09-21-2011 12:08 PM

I am strongly considering upgrading to the AP if the price is right!

Scott

Could you send me a PM with quote for 6/4 AP with 2-piece non-float rotors and SS lines (if they are not already included in the kit).

Thanks!

Pm'd ya!

The rates for the AP racing and Brembo went up 7%. It seems like everything on the market is going up.

I think there are additional benefits of the sport package though... isn't the full viscous LSD only from the sport? I thought that and maybe SyncRev was a sport only option.

MD-370z 09-22-2011 03:33 PM

jamaica could you pm the price of the AP front 6 pot and rear 4 pot. thanks!

Yeah, that's right. SynchroRev is really the only thing I really want. And I guess it's not bad to at least start out with the larger brakes.

Amuse370z 09-22-2011 04:06 PM

The sport package is $4000 here in Canada, its not worth it.

I'll be going the cheaper route of 4th anniversary Akebonos for about $1.7k

dvo 09-22-2011 05:22 PM

I've always liked stoptechs for some reason. I only read good things about them

Mike 09-22-2011 05:41 PM

I love my Stoptech Trophy system, but it has no business being in a bang for the buck comparison!

Agreed, stoptechs are badass but these are almost half the price.

OMGWTFBBQ 09-22-2011 11:53 PM

A plus about the AP Racing besides the affordability (compared to other BBKs on the market) is the fact that the rotors aren't that much larger than the stock rotors to require 19" wheels, so you can still run 18" wheels (lighter and bigger tire selection).

That's good to know, plus if you get a flat tire you can use your spare.
