Need some help :(
Hey all... recently was driving in the rain and hydroplaned when I got cut off and had to slam on the brakes and hit a curb with my front driver side wheel. Now when I drive faster than 20mph i hear a clicking sound from the front left. Brakes seem to work fine - when i decelerate from about 40 to 0 the car maintains its alignment. Steering feels the same and the car seems to drive the same - does not pull to a side etc. Just the clicking noise - maybe more like a flapping noise. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Remove the front wheel that hit the curb and check to see if there was any damage to the suspension. Also, check to see whether you might have lodged a piece of debris in the wheel area when you hit the curb. It's a start...

will do... any others? gonna take it in to the dealer today - but the clicking only happens at 20ish mph and above... would not be suspension related i think

AHh... will do... hope the dealer checks for that... I doubt it can be serious given how well the car drives... goes straight as an arrow on the freeway even at 60-80 speeds
Thanks guys... I love this forum |

seems ok ... car does not pull one way or another. I let the wheel go after getting it straight on the freeway and it was pretty much headed straight... braking from 60-0 seems ok and does not pull one way or another

nope - so i had a flap of tire that ripped off the sidewall on the inside front left tire - this was hitting the arm that sits above the tire and making the noise. Ordered a new one - should be all done tomorrow. Also getting a dealer alignment to make sure all is within spec - too bad its gonna cost me about 500 - exhaust + mods will wait i guess.

dang. but at least you figured out the problem. keep us posted about the alignment. the dealer that i bought my car from says they won't have the specs for alignment for the Z34. and they said that 3 weeks ago!!!
