I'm not trying to be rude, but I've been involved with this industry for a decade. Vivid Racing has been in business for a decade. I worked for a suspension company for 2 years before coming to Vivid.

What your asking to do is not possible, without redesigning suspension components. Sure, on old VWs you can adjust the torsion bars but modern cars don't use torsion bars.

The reason I'm posting is because I don't want to see you doing something unsafe or damage your car just to get a few mm lower. And honestly, re-torqueing all of your suspension is only going to get you a FEW mm lower. As in 1-3mm.

Why is it that you're so against lowering springs?

If you don't want to lower 1.2 inches you can get springs that lower less like RS*R or Tein H Tech. They lower about .5 to 1" That is what I would do, don't mess with the suspension.

couldn't agree more with both of the last 2 posts

Sure you can do it, cut the springs :)

tjlazer 07-29-2011 12:09 PM

and you can do it by removing air from tires, removing springs, putting a lot of weight in the car.... lol

I'd like to hear the OPs reason for avoiding springs, because more than likely, it's going to come down to ride quality. A GOOD lowering spring, paired with a proper shock, won't have this issue :)

OH MY LORD!! Who said I was against lowering springs?! I was about to buy f*cking coilovers! Jesus christ.

Sorry for the blow up but everyone thinks I'm trying to go cheap or something and not get springs. Maybe I only wanted a few millimeters like that other guy suggested. To further clarify, I have the funds to do any of these options. I was looking for an answer like justice's in my original question.

You can relate my question to someone who wants a bit more horsepower, not 150whp, not 50whp, but maybe 5whp for not that big of an effort. The answer in that case is high flow air filters and not a GTM Twin Turbo kit.

If I did buy springs they would definitely be Swifts. I like the whole notion of soft while DD'ing and stiff when driving hard. That sounds perfect. I just wish they didn't drop it as much as they do. The only drop I want it about .3 -.4 in the front and maybe .1 in the rear. The front just looks like its up too high compared to the rear.

Call up a shop and put an order with with Swift for that request. I think swift should be able to handle that request, but it may cost extra and you may need to wait a while.
