back 4 piston calipers
Can any 4 piston caliper be modified to fit the rear stock sport rotors.
I have the racing brake rotor on he rears/ I want to 6 piston on the front. Z |
How about a big brake kit?
|
I'm also researching on this topic.
Here's what I found out. 370z BBK Kit = 2P1.8021A Which uses the same brake pads as 2P1.9016A (Chevy Camaro SS) Which also has a rear caliper upgrade only kit 2P0.8001A The calipers should be the same, however I dont think brembo can supply you an bridge adapter that would let you use stock rotors. You may have to machine one yourself. Please don't use what I said as facts, this is merely my research. |

BTW your brakes works great Mike! Thanks again! |
Maybe, but the camaro brakes are like the akebonos and have the mounting points integral to the caliper, not like the front radially mounted brembos.
Glad you like them! |

I havent seen the camaro's caliper upgrade kit in person, so I dont know for sure :S |
oh, I was talking stock camaro brakes. Would have been a great upgrade because I can get them for under 100 each.

Bad Idea!
Be very careful when messing around with the rear brakes. If you were able to mount the front calipers on the rear of your Z it would become a death trap.
There is a really good reason why our cars (and every other car on the planet) has smaller rear brakes. This is because too much rear brake will cause the rears to lock up under heavy braking and spin your car. Even on cars that appear to have identical size front and rear calipers, if you actually took the caliper off you would notice that the pistons in the rear are one third of the size of the fronts. |
