40,000 yen is $500. The parts probably cost $20.

perhaps, but I'd happily pay $500 for a well thought out, well fitting, ready to bolt right up w/no headaches brake duct kit.

To each his own. If I needed brake ducting badly enough to pay $500, I'd just hack a hole in the wheel liners and stuff some ducting through there starting from the fangs. Then the other $480 will pay for my gas during 2 track days .

That's right around what I would expect from a well put together kit that includes a properly designed hub outlet vent (JDM pricing anyway). A locally made kit might be a $100 to $200 cheaper.

Expect to pay $60-$100 just for the high temp vent hoses if putting together a kit yourself. Fang vents would be pretty easy to make from stock parts, and Nasa ducts would be easy to integrate into the undershroud, but the one part that is a royal pain is the hub outlet. That part needs to be custom made to the car and would have to be hydroformed (due to the complex shape requirements) out of aluminum.

I really wish someone, forged performance, stillen, GTM etc, would just step up and come out with a good brake duct kit already. I'm pretty sure if it was priced right, it would sell a decent amount.

i dont know if i want to pay 500, but considering the very limited time i have to work on my cars i too would appreciate a kit that's ready to install.

JDM parts are usually a massive rip off. You could get a custom fabricator here to work you up something for much less than 509 bones.

^ says the guy with the HKS logo as his avatar. lol

I agree though, the ends look nice.. but the ducting looks like the stole it from behind my clothes dryer.
