I thought the stock setup had some negative camber. Not 100% sure though. Not enough for excessive wear, but might be more evident with higher milage. I think it's normal.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure stock has some negative camber and was just about to say that when I was reading through the posts. I've got 20k miles on my stockers and aren't worn nearly that bad.

Also, there's nothing wrong with getting an alignment just to make sure everything is dialed in correctly. Uneven tire wear is normal on sports cars with negative camber, but what you're describing could be excessive. You should be seeing something similar to the bottom middle, but not that extreme. ![]() |

Inner tread block wear on the rear tires is 100% normal and expected. The stock setup has nearly 2 deg of negative rear camber. With daily driving, the inner tread blocks will wear more quickly. The negative camber is helpful for traction when exiting corners. You can have a shop dial out the negative rear camber if you're just toodling around town most of the time.

I just found out today that my rear tires are worn down to 3/16 after only 16k miles. The wear is all on the outside of the rear tires, both sides. Guy said I should have checked alignment more often, was he right? Also I ran over some nails too, D'oh! Looks like I need to replace my tires, anything I should know?

It's normal, the negative camber isn't too bad. If you buy your tires at discounttire, you can bring it in every few months for free lateral rotations on the backs to get the most out of them.

Sounds like a lot of you guys need to go hit some corners and give the car some throttle on the way out of those corners. That's the best way to achieve even tire wear on a Z

Why would you upgrade suspension and downgrade tires?
