Default StopTechs

I've used the StopTech pads from Z1 for track sessions and daily driver street use and have been really satisfied with them. As I improve my track proficiency I may like need to upgrade to something else, but at my current level they are more than adequate.

I just had the Stoptech pads installed along with Z1 performance 2-piece rotors. My expectation was that it would enhance the stopping power a bit and look good with some new spokey wheels I am getting made. In reality the stopping power is greaty enhanced, but it is also much "smoother" since you don't need as much brake pressure to slow down the car. Contradicting that statement the braking is also a lot more noisey and there is a lot of brake dust. Under hard braking I feel the slots and drilled holes doing their job through the brake pedal.

I put them to the test this morning by braking HARD to avoid getting rabbit gore all over my Z. The car stayed straight and true and the anti lock braking did not engage at all while reducing my speed greatly and safely.

Buddy has them because he got them free and he hates them. Every track person I have talked to is rather meh about them as well. Never ran them myself, but 9/10 people replying "meh" is enough to make me not buy them.

If it was a street car that I wanted to upgrade, I would be willing to give these a try on the Z Products | Power Stop

I put a set of them on our ford Explorer and have been very impressed with them so far, for ~600 /700 bucks 4 rotors and 4 pads, it was a huge, huge ,gain on the truck's braking.

Need to switch out the breaks, starting to make a squealing noise on the front, want to do a complete setup, cross drilled and slotted, its my DD and I don't track..just a very aggressive driver (kinda have to be here in this part of Florida). Think I will just get the stock pads and save for a BBK. Anything out there comparable to stock pads as far as price and performance?

Gonna bump this thread as I am looking for something specific -

I DD my Z, but I'm going to do tail of the dragon perhaps twice in the coming year and I'm going to do pads, rotors, fluids, and brake duct for the occasion. I have heard the Project Mu could be great to try. I'm not at all interested in Hawk - I tried once before and was seriously underwhelmed.
