Help with sport brake clip pad
 

I'm currently going threw my sport brake kit upgrade. In the pic below, is this the correct placement of the clip pad? Or does it need to be flipped the other way?

Super thanks. I have one more question. On the clip pads at each four corners what's the purpose of the angles within them? I would think they apply some sort of pressure/ resistance to the pads for some reason.

When you removed/installed the spring clip you had to push down on the tab that the brake pad pin goes through to slide the pin out. This is the pressure transmitted to the four corners of the spring clip. The angle on each corner assists in forcing the pads away from the rotor and keeping the pads aligned to the rotor. I would guess this also has a function in keeping the pads from rattling.

That does make alot of sense. I could somewhat tell the pads needed this due to the way they were acting. Plus from what I can tell I think it's in my best interest to grease the pins that hold the clip and pads in place to allow the pads to slide/ press in smoother.

Don't grease those pins, it will cook on, and collect a lot of debris. You really shouldn't need to do that.

Alright then. That didnt cross my mind. I had talked to a guy who mentioned this. He was old school though. Just felt like there was some resistance there. But that was by my hands though. Thanks man.

The practice of greasing pins is reserved for floating calipers, so it's not out of the norm, just not for this application.
