Finished TEIN Monoflex with EDFC install

I put the coilovers in over my Christmas break and just now finished up the EDFC control (lots of delays etc....). Last week I got the car (with my track tires on) corner balanced and aligned for track/street driving. All I can say is.......... holy crap the car has been reborn. I highly recommend getting corner balanced and aligned after a coil over install. It is money well spent

Where did you install the EDFC?

Nikon FM 04-04-2011 11:42 PM

To the left of the steering wheel and right of the fob holder. The face is about 5" above the top of the fob holder. The three wires are barely visible running down and then behind/under the dash but at least my leg does not hit it. Before I ran the wires I had it mounted a bit lower and would bump my shin on it….didn't like that.

I have the same setup to be installed this week. Looking at the wires, I am hoping to locate my box in the armrest hatch.

Okay. I'll shoot a few in some good day light and post.

:iagree: about the corner balancing.

As for the EDFC...seems $$$ for something I could adjust myself when I swap tires before a track session....I don't know. Let us know how well it works for you. Definitely want to see pics.

What kind of alignment specs are you running? What rebound settings are you at currently?

It's embarrassing that my setup was so off before the alignment and corner balance work was done. After installing the coilovers and lowering the car everything was pretty much out of whack, but after getting the work done the car feels great! My first track day is 4/21, so I'm definitely looking forward to the difference. Right now in the crazy rain soaked roads I'm running damping settings of 9 in the front and 6 in the back…... 0, 0 is zero damping. Come track day I'll have plenty of time to dial things in.

The Coilover install was done in early January so I did not run the bad setup on the track, thank goodness…...

nice setup

Nikon do you have a front camber kit? curious because they adjusted it. also your camber is still not within factory spec. im not sure why its all green on the final adjustment print out.

Nikon FM 04-07-2011 10:15 PM

No front camber kit although I believe there is some front camber adjustability with the coilovers. Thanks for the tip on "why is it green". I asked for a Track/DD setup so perhaps the settings are the compromise, but to my knowledge green is supposed to be "in spec".

Whatever the settings the car sure handles well now.

Imho, EDFC is very worth it. I can take my car from comfy for my girlfriend to stiff enough that I can have fun in the corners with it. And if I want to use the tires I'm running now at the track (Ventus V12s) then I can drive right on and switch on the fly... pretty neat.
