Swift springs 15/20mm spacers rubbing
Noticed that I have some very slight rubbing on the front inner wheel wells with the swift springs and 15/20mm spacers.
The rubbing seems to occur on the little plastic "nub" that protrudes from the wheel well. I have not had the car aligned yet as I just got them installed, but do I need to increase the negative camber on the front to tuck in the tires a bit more? Thanks for any help. |

The rubbing has only happened twice. First on the right and today on the left. It must barely be rubbing as I could hardly hear the sound and the damage is very minimal. I have pulled in and out of driveways, etc. and had no issues. I noticed it today when traveling at about 35 mph and hitting a slight dip in the road.
I feel a slight camber adjustment may be all that is needed but wondered if anyone here could supply their settings and/or inspect their own car to see if they have the same rubbing issues. Unless you felt up there with your finger, you would never know there is any contact being made. I will take pics tonight when I get home. Last edited by JGreenwood07; 03-28-2011 at 10:19 AM. |

You can't adjust the front clamber. Rubbing is normal but I rarely rub mine even though my drop is properly lower and I have bigger spaces.

Ok, good to hear then. The rubbing is extremely minimal. If it weren't for that little plastic piece sticking out from fender lining, there wouldn't be any at all.

My auto spell checker on my new phone is so much crazier than my iphone haha. I personally don't trust the spc camber kit, I think it is held only by one bolt and nut. It should be held down with 4 bolts. I think ddmotorsport said his would come loose while tracking his car. I guess it would be fine for street use, maybe.

Yeah, I don't have any rubbing with 20mm spacers and a good amount of negative camber. I have not had a chance to run the car hard yet though so I would have to report back when I get to do that as to whether there is rubbing or not.

Yea ok. I got ya. I had to remove that part all together. I just grinded the hole hump out. It's like a big U shape. Most here have done this. Plus it allowes easier access to the bolt holding on the front clip.

At this point the tire is barely even rubbing that piece. On the back of it, you can where it has nicked it. I think I will leave it as-is for now and keep an eye on it for any further rubbing.
Appreciate the help. |
