These are replacement springs that are shorter in height and have a stronger spring rate, which will effectively lower the car approximately an inch, lowering the center of gravity, stiffening the ride for better handling.
The front springs are attached to the shock, and require a spring compressor to remove.
Your phrasing of 'suspension kit' is a little vague. Did you mean coilover kit? You would not need lowering springs with a coilover, they would come with the kit, and be tuned for the application specifically.
