Rear lower brace

4 Attachment(s)
Seeing how many people would be interested in a lower rear brace for our cars. It would tie together the the rear lower subframe where the rear camber arms meet the subframe. Result is better traction for corner entry and exit.

Made from aluminum, and will have an option of powder coating.

Pricing is $85 shipped.

EDIT: Due to the interest, these I am going forward in production of these units.

Also I have decided to make a few other parts as well. Looking like some ladder brace will be next on the list as far as braces go. I am looking into some sort of brake cooling as I need this on my car as well. I am also open to suggestions, and needs of people in this community. I will be here for you guys and to make whatever is needed at a competitive price.

EDIT #2: Here is the "how-to". and added more pictures

lets see that CAD model

For $75, I am down assuming it does not conflict with the exhaust or ground clearance.

if better traction for corner entry/exit is for real id be down as well! powder coated red please!

Machine it, powercoat it, make sure it doesn't interfere with the FI exhaust, and you'll have a winner on your hands.

lazer_Z 03-10-2011 06:54 PM

I don't have anyone around me that has an FI exhaust but it would be VERY hard for it to interfere with any exhaust due to it's location?

Hmm. Interested.

Stiffens the rear? So dials in a bit more oversteer?

Kastley85891 03-10-2011 11:18 PM

Id try it + for me

GTSPEC 2 Point Rear Lower Brace for 07+ Nissan 370Z | www.gtspec.com
Lou, At Amplified a Forum Vendor has these? as well as the Front brace
I would advise to check with our Vendors to see what deals they have for these before going somewhere else. Thank You

lazer_Z 03-11-2011 06:25 AM

Yes there are other products out there. I am starting to make my own products, as i have for other cars in the past. If you want to go with GT spec, then do. Others might not want to. I am not just posting some cheap-o ebay rear lower brace. This is something I have made, and am putting onto the market. I am talking to the appropriate people about vendor status, so that would solve that issue. Just about any part for our cars are made by atleast 2 or 3 people. If you want to go with GT Spec, then get GT Spec; others might want to try something new, and help out a fellow forum member and enthusiast start up a small project. If this goes well many more parts will be coming.

Jordo!: It stiffens the rear, but I wouldn't say it dials in more oversteer. Stiffens the chassis slightly so if you just dive into a corner hot and get on the throttle then yes I suppose more oversteer could be expected, but it just allows you to get into and out of the corner with less body flex and therefore allow you to rotate through the corner with a bit more speed.

Good for you man! It is always great to have a competition between models and stuff. First off, there is more out there then one maker/vendor etc. And I think a lot of people get cought in the mid set of a one maker/ that guy way of thinking and don't like to see other items.
You want to make your own and start a line, then hit it up and go for it. For that price I'd be interested to check one out, as suspension is on my to do list that I'm finally starting to put together.
