lsd question

Will a 08-11 INFINITI G37 REAR DIFFERENTIAL LSD OEM fit a 09 base 370?

stephen 02-25-2011 07:11 PM

i really need to know if anyone has any info on this

SPOHN 02-25-2011 07:41 PM

It might need some extra parts to work. But best bet is to call a reputible shop that deals with these cars. Like the one in my sig. They'll know.

I have not had any dealings with acid in a long time so im not sure. Oh limited slip diff, lol. Get the part # from it and see if it is the same or if it cross referances to see whats happening there. What are yall doing with this stuff btw?

lazer_Z 02-26-2011 08:21 AM

if it is from rwd it will fit.
BUT if you have a 6mt you have to get one out of a 6mt if you have a 7at you have to get one out of a 7at

This is only relevant if you are changing the whole pumpkin, and therefor are swapping the final drive gears.

If you are just swapping the core then yes the LSD from the G37 is the same LSD that is in the 370Z Sport/Nismo. However to install the stock LSD differential into a base pumpkin you need to get longer stub shafts. If you go with an aftermarket LSD that is designed for the shorter base shafts then you don't have this problem.

actually the lsd itself is different.
the ring gear from the AT is thinner than the MT and the AT and MT LSD's have different size plates where it mounts up because of that.
they also have different part numbers. not saying you cant get it to work, but they are different.

so if its from a manual besides the pumkin what else would i need? new axles etc? thanks lazer

lazer_Z 03-07-2011 05:17 PM

if you get the lsd unit from a manual, you will need one of the shafts. i THINK its the driver side but not sure. that should be it but i may be missing a clip or something like that. look at the parts diagram on an online parts fishce and it should tell you.

thanks lazer
