I talked to Scott @ Stance USA. He suggested that anyone who is having clunking problems call him directly.

He said there should be no problems whatsoever.

847-290-1568 - Just ask for Scott

Hey Nick,

Just spoke with Another member here, a car that he worked on and installed the same coilover is having the same exact noise...But the noise came after a few days after being installed...

Yo! Well, as I mentioned, I spoke to Scott @ Stance USA, and he said there should be no issues at all.

Just hit him up :)

i wouldnt have a problem with it, if it only happened occasionally, but mines is all the time. over any type of bump.

The IntenseMotorsports tech did some tweaks to mine and it does not happen as much at all anymore. I just chatted with Stance (Jim I think) about this, and I think I will let he and the tech talk so he can explain everything he did.

I reccomend calling Stance. Scott was to lunch, but Jim was very cool and willing to help. Great support by them.... If I get my issue figured out when I take my car in the week of the 21st, I will be sure to post and let all know what it was.

Some people have mentioned they need to tighten their collars more. Personally, I have Stance, and I had to do this.

That's what I keep thinking needs to be done. Everyone needs to triple check the nuts and bolts. I also wonder if these same people did and alignment change at the same time. Might need to check those to. Wouldn't hurt.

But I really think there needs to be more springload added. And the people who have this issue where is the sound coming from on everyones? Just the rear? Or a mixture of both?

So an update: Went to SpeedElement yesterday and they adjusted my shock. Now there is no more clunking. Will post back in a few weeks, to see if the noise come back. Some other members get noise a few days after install.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

what was the issue?

if you have a chance, read through this thread. check out the audio/video clips, if you have the same noise, then preload is the problem. Granted these are BC coilovers, but if you have the same noise, its probably the same problem. Let me know if you have any questions that aren't answered in the thread.

Good stuff guys!

DennisZ 02-10-2011 10:34 AM

My problem was the shock tube wasn't matched up for the spring height. I forget what they did but im happy its resolved.
