Default T1R coilovers

Anyone using these?

Unfortunately the numerous parts I bought from Rick@VIP is currently stuck at customs, and I'm bored of driving a stock car. A quick call to AJ Racing locally to see what they have that I can buy, and they have the T1R coilovers in stock. My H&R Springs from Rick@VIP may get here any day now, but I can't stand the stock height anymore. So I might just go and buy these coilovers tomorrow. Couldn't find much info here though.

I've had T1R parts on my GTR and the 420ztt before so I know the brand is of quality.

These spring rates are 12 F and 8 R. Good for street driving and mountain carving while maintaining comfort. Adjustability can drop the car by 2 inches or so. 46mm monotube design and 24 way compression and rebound adjustable. No pillowball mount, but high tension urethane bushing, so no noise over bumps.

I can't stand driving a stock car anymore so I'll buy these and install them tomorrow. I'll give a review of them here afterwards. Great price too.

So when speaking of not having pillowball mounts. What are the benefits and non benefits of this? Besides noise. These look very nice. Currently shopping now.

I have not seen anyone talk about these for the Z but I know a bunch of the S2000 guys have them installed. Most are very positive reviews. I didn't have their coilovers but I had a number of their other parts on my S. I was very happy with the quality.

I had them on my s and I was not impressed with them at all. The dampners were adjustable but you couldn't feel a change in compression or rebound. If your looking for inexpensive way to lower your car and don't mind taiwanese quality go for it. If you want high performance your going to have to spend more bucks

Alright...here it is. T1R coilovers installed. I borrowed the hoist in a friend's shop and installed the coilovers, the Stillen G3 Intake, and the EVO-R CF rear diffuser.

The coilovers was straight forward to install. You'll see a few pics at the bottom of this post. I lowered the car by about 1 1/2 inches front and rear. Got rid of the gap. After I get my CF kit and my aggressive wheels, I may lower it even more to achieve the stance I want, and then corner balance.

Sorry I don't have any pics DURING the installs as my hands were greasy and dirty...didn't want to hold my camera like that.

My first impression of these coilovers...well first of all, I have it adjusted to full stiff setting. It's just beginning the break in process, but initial thoughts are that these are great street coilovers. Easy for carving the corners, and with full acceleration the nose doesn't dip much. With the dramatically decreased body roll, the car reacts to left / right change of direction very fast. It makes the car a lot more responsive. Over bumps and rocks, it's very apparent. However it doesn't hop or jump. It swallows up the small bumps. Lets you know that it's there, but takes care of it. I like that. With some sway bars, this would be a great back road carving machine. I'm loving it.

I really think having pillowball mounts would be a good idea... do they have an option for that?

I bought a T1R exhaust for my Civic like 8 years ago and it was great. So much so... it helped me make my screen name.

uhhh... to break in the dampers to rid airbubbles from shipment, you want to set it to the middle or towards softer side the first couple of hundred miles.

^that's what I thought too. But T1R told me I can either break it in at full stiff or full soft...so I decided to go full stiff.
