Default Ride height not even on my new Z

I just bought a new 2010 370z base model last the other day and can't help but notice the passengers side front is sitting a little lower than the drivers side. (about 3/8 of an inch) Is this normal? The car had 60 miles on it when I bought it. My first thought was maybe some clown hit a curb on a test drive and the stealership tried to fixed it, but I can't find anything that looks like any bolts have been cracked loose or the vehicle has been worked on. This is driving me nuts as I made the purchase at night and did not notice it until the next day.

Please, to any nissan techs take no offense to this but the last thing I want to do is to leave my z with 90 miles on it at the stealership to be worked on.

Im a tech. (Toyota) here in Houston for almost 25 years so I know how to look a vehicle over with a fine toothed comb... This is the only thing I could find that may or may not be a problem on this vehicle.(unlike many other new vehicles purchased that I could find a list of things for warranty)

I hope this has not been posted before as I looked over the threads. Thanks again for any forum members input.

Which dealership did you get it from?

Seriously 3/8 of an inch is nothing to worry about. The driver side should be higher.

Maybe the springs haven't settled evenly at all four corners. Even then it's a good chance it's not going to be the same. 3/8 isn't much.

so you would know to unlink the swaybar to see if it's causing the torsional flex. if yes, then your swaybar is defective. if not, then it's somewhere on your strut or your fenders are not aligned correctly.

Maybe they forgot to take out the transportation spring spacer on that side? Check the spring to see if the spacer is still in it...they use them to keep your car raised so it clears when taking them off ships at the dock and such. I know nismos have them, I'm not sure about other edition 370z...worth a shot. I remember a while back when this guy showed up to a meet with his new nismo looking like a 4X4....had a little bit of a laugh then jacked his car to take them out.

Thank you very much for the fast reply. Sorry if I seem a little green but im new to posting on forums. I hate to ask but would you or anyone else please explain as to why the drivers side should sit higher? I know 3'8 of an inch is not much but when I look at my new Z on level ground I can see it is not sitting level. Have parked my truck and my wifes other car in the same spot and they both are sitting level as far as I can tell. Make no mistake other than this and or the oil temp issue I could be looking at this summer,(Texas) My wife and I just love the car.

Sorry Im not a front end man.. My cheese cake is heavy line. But thanks agian for your input. Just ordered a set of race ramps and a couple of low profile jacks to help pin point where the problem is if there is one as I can't get my big *** under this car sitting on the ground...

P.S. Let me clear up my comment of looking over a vehicle with a fine toothed comb.. Im looking for shipping damage, test drive damage (Gomer hitting a curb), Lot damage, panels not lining up,panels that have been repainted, bolts that have been removed, ect, ect. Trust me on this as you get to know me on this board you will see just how anal I am about my stuff. I keep my things for a very long time. Example my motorcycle is a 97 and still looks brand new...

As far as the sway bar I will keep that in mind as that is a very good call. I will be looking into that as well.

Ok, Checked front and rear springs No spacers found. Also I called Z1 motorsports tech line and they said the same thing, check for these spacers as well. This must be is a common problem with Z'S as the stealerships don't always remember to remove them.

Oh well, Im just gonna wait for my race ramps and low profile jacks to get here so I can look under this car a little closer.

The driver side is higher because when a driver is in the car that side drops down. But a stock z has a lot of wheel gap and you notice a 3/8 of an inch difference? It shouldn't be a problem As long as your car goes straight.

Car does go pretty straight as far As I can tell. The steering wheel is off to the right just a tad bit (Thinking nothing that set the toe and let it go won't correct) and thats with all tire pressures set the same as per the sticker on the door. As far as the steering wheel being off I understand being in the business that during shipping the shippers crank the hell out of those chains for transport. So getting a 100% straight wheel and perfect align.from the factory on a new car is like winning the lottery. Im just hoping that they didn't crank so hard that they screwed my right spring, strut, or any other front end part up.

Good dealers will prep the car per factory spec before delivering to the customer.

I'd expect perfection. Being a tech it is probably second nature to attack the problem. After inspecting the car your experience should identify what the people who sold you the car should fix……...

When you're in the car it should sit perfectly flat
