Question Spring spacer lift for shipping ? ?

Ok, so I am stationed overseas in Germany and will be shipping my Z back stateside this summer. I will have installed H&R springs by then so my Z will be low. I am worried about it being driven on and off trucks and boats being so low.

I have heard of Nismo owners complaining of a rough ride after taking delivery. Come to find out it was the stealership that did not remove the spring spacers!

So, I was thinking I can buy these or something similar: NEW HARD Rubber COIL SPRING SPACERS - eBay (item 230553741056 end time Dec-21-10 19:22:20 PST), lift up the Z install them and drop it off at POV shipping.

Has anyone ever used these or anything like these before? Do you guys think it will work good for shipping?

Being that you have aftermarket springs these spacers may not fit. I will take a look at my H&Rs when I get home but I think they have a section of coils that are closer together.

ive seen smaller spacers than the one in the link so the smaller ones could work(?).

maybe take off your front bumper and put it IN the car wrapped up really well (if it fits.... i dunno) and do the same with the front chin spoiler.

^^ actually that's not a bad idea but would it promote arseholes to tamper with the car if front is exposed? not sure.

i doubt it would be an issue. the car should be under supervision once its in the hands of a shipper. if someone wanted to vandalize it they would sooner slash a tire then mess with the radiator.

There is no way the front bumper will fit in the car, but I could have it shipped with my household goods?

I think I will just throw some spacers in there to be safe

hahaha, jeff visit a global mainstream shipping facility... even them, you wont believe how vulnerable some things are during transit. they wont slash a tire but they could toss something into the car like a used paper cup, etc.

From my experience shipping my truck from Germany through the military, I can tell you for a fact that even if the bumper could fit in the cabin they wouldn't let you do it. Pretty much everything that isn't fastened down goes in a brown box that gets taped up and put inside the car. I had to fight with them to have them leave the spare tire in the bed of the truck (despite the bed cover being locked and ratchet strapped down.) If they were to allow you to have the bumper in the cabin they wouldn't cover it for damage. I had to sign a waiver for my truck bed saying that if the spare tire caused damage they weren't responsible.
