Stillen Front Sway bars, now adjustable
Thought it would be nice to share this here. I ordered a set of Stillen sway bars during their Thanks Giving sale weekend and I received them today. Upon opening the box I thought they send me the wrong parts, as the front sway bar had 6 holes instead of the 2 I was expecting. But one phone call to Stillen cleared it all up, I received the right one, they just upgraded the fronts to be adjustable based on customer feedback! Nice!
Problem now is, what setting am I going to use? :icon14: |
DAMN good news. i am about to get me a set so hopefully the ones i get are adjustable as well.

Wow I hadn't heard that Stillen made the fronts adjustable too! I guess those of us who purchased the original 370Z sway bars missed out. My Stillen front sway bars have one setting. BTW has Stillen now added urethane bushings or do you still have to purchase those separately? I added them after the fact, but I like them nonetheless. When I bought mine Stillen was selling them separately.
BTW I've finally gone to the softess setting on the rear sway bars. When I had it on full stiff I was setting off the VDC when I took a corner going fast. Now I can do the same thing without activating the VDC. I can't really feel any handling difference between the settings. The softess setting on the Stillen sway bars is still considerably stiffer than the stock rear sway bar. |
That's awesome. Too bad I just ordered my Eibach.

In the stiffest setting (rear) my car was oversteering slightly, hence why I think the VDC was being triggered. I've now got slightly wider wheels and tires(Nismo 370Z wheels) on the car, but I haven't tried the stiffest setting again with the new wheels. |
I'd just try the stock bushings. They don't need any maintenance. The Hotchkis bushings I have need to be greased, and the stupid Hotchkis grease seems to last about 4 weeks before you need to repack the bushings. Driving me nuts. I'm just going to put some more robust grease in there...I think Hotchkis is FOS and trying to make people buy their silicone grease.
So, try the stock bushings for less maintenance. If they work, then who cares about the urethane bushings...all they do is hold the bar and let it pivot. |
About to order a set myself

should get adjustable endlinks too so that you can use intermediate settings. :p
i use their sways on my G and has been great the last 6yrs. |
News travels fast.. yes we have changed the front sway bar to be 5-way adjustable, and those are shipping now.
We will make the front bars available on their own for anyone who feels they need the extra adjustability and increased stiffness. STILLEN: STILLEN Sway Bars http://www.stillen.com/media_files/3...adjustable.jpg |
What about those of us who already have your original bars, is there a loyalty discount on the new ones if we upgrade? :)

Josh, so what are the new specs? Did you also up the stiffness of the rear a bit? Making them a bit more aggressive?
