Grinding Noise
Hey there, I just had my set of Swift springs installed and have been loving the tight handling and greatly improved driving dynamics. However, today I started turning the car to the right and after a turn and a half I started hearing a metal on metal grinding noise coming from the front of the car. I wasn't sure if I hear correctly so I backed up, straightened the wheel, cut it again and sure enough there is a metal on metal grinding noise.
It happens only after 1.5 to full lock turning right and my friend stood outside the car and confirmed it was coming from the driver's side front wheel area. I tried to get video but Murphy's Law came into effect and the noise went away. Does anyone have some ideas on what might be going on? Thanks in advance.

Have you gotten an alignment since your install? I was having all sorts of noise after my springs install. Not saying that's what it is, but you never know. I just got an alignment and it fixed all of the sounds and instability I had. I was hearing a bit of noise when driving over a level change on the freeway or bumps. Good luck.

I did get an alignment afterward, however the camber in the front is pretty aggressive I think. I was thinking about whether that could cause some issues but I have seen other cars on here with a lot more tire and rim with more camber and haven't heard of these issues. It almost sounds as if a brake pad was completely worn and the metal backing was grinding against the disc.
It seems to do it only 5-7 times out of 10 and only when turning to the right (1.5 turns through to full lock), moving forward (does not do it in reverse), and I can feel the grinding through the car and steering wheel. Do you guys have any potential contact points that you might know of that I can check out and report back? I really appreciate the help by the way.

I know im probably repeating myself, but check the sway bar contact points at the endlinks, and the sway bar bushings as well. A break inspection also couldn't hurt. Hope you sort everything out.

Sorry about that, you are right that is all common sense stuff anyway. I will report back if I find any obvious contact points since I am going to get under the car right now and check it out.

Alright, well I apologize for my hasty panic... At least at this point, I found a little rock or something between the disc and the brake pad which was marring on the rotor. I used my key to pick it off and I drove it around and could not replicate the noise so for now, all is back to being well! Thanks as always for the advice.

I blame my last car for my paranoia of every little abnormal sound haha.
