Well, in all fairness, give THMotorsports a chance to make things right. It could have been a simple mistake.

Another member is selling a set of Tein MonoFlex coilovers. Looks gently used and in good condition from the pics. You may want to consider these. Check out the thread (I am in no way affiliated with the OP, or getting a kick back for the advertisement...though maybe I should. LOL ):
FS: Tein MonoFlex Coilover Part no. GSP92-FUAS4 & SPC FR. Upper Arms Adjustable I have an identical set and I would recommend them. Oh, another set you could consider is KW V3...heard good things about those as well.

Much appreciated...keep us updated. Oh, I was looking at your signature and noticed that you are getting an ARK exhaust. I just read another post about someone else having problems with that...no offence to ARK and I'm not trying to worry you, but check out this thread just for info:
So what if ......

Don't know if they are the right parts or not, but not feeling comfortable with the shock and springs combined in the rear myself. If you do return them, get the monoflex mentioned above. I have them and love them.

Thank you for chimming in mike. Im a little cooled off now, wasnt too happy with what i had seen on the ksports site. I wonder if they have EVER done a special order for this item on the 370...or maybe they just did some machining and modified the 350 one to fit the 370. IDK but i want the money back so i can order my differential and 4.08.

Maybe it's just the vendor (not ARK) that's the problem for that poor chap in the link I sent you earlier. Here's another post about ARK: Ark Exhaust Type 2 :)

as for the coilovers, the more i think and look at the setup the more i think it would work fine. the control arm should operated just fine without the spring on it. all it does is hold the wheel in place and the spring is there to rebound for the shock....question is, ytf did nissan assemble it this way. maybe the springs are just too big to fit with the shocks. Im going to call tonight but im starting to understand more and more that this setup would actually work and is a great setup for racing. |

My thoughts are correct, you just remove the spring from the control arm and install. I called ksport to verify. He mentioned that they haven't updated their site and that is why the 370z is not listed. I did pm thmotorsports (nick) and appoloize.
For the way they set it up I was also correct (after looking and studying) and it is to make the suspension stronger for track use so like MUST mentioned in a PM to me (....creating a formitable track car....) he was correct. Thursday (your wenesday night/early morning) i'll be doing the install and posting up a review of fitment and feel. To break it in ill only set the dampening to 18 (36way). Thank you all for the help |

Nissan did this because it is a more efficient suspension design. A lot of newer cars are doing it now. Mini, BMW and even the new Civic SI.
anyways its not a problem of whether they will work on your car or not. It will work on the car. The problem is that the rear top mount is not reinforced. I dont know about the z but I did the same thing to my AE86 which also has a seperate shock and spring and ripped the top mount of my rear suspension. It's not worth the risk to me. Also any kind of deformation of the mount will affect the pitch of the shock. |
