NEED HELP: ksport coilover install

Ok so im pretty sure this is correct but i want to be 100% sure. For the rear coilovers do you remove the spring from the shock and install it like the OEM setup? The springs came on the shocks. never delt with this suspension setup i come from the scion world

Need help ASAP cuz im working on it right now and this is the only thing holding me back thank you.

A pic might help. But the rear shocks and springs are separate. Just replace the oem with your aftermarket ones.

It looks like those may fit and work. My only concern is that nissan did not design the springs to be under the area where the struts are. I don't know if the z can handle the extra force from the springs.

That's a concern I read when I had the 350z as some people wanted the strut and springs to be combined. Even though nissan tested and designed the z to have the strut and spring separate for better handling.

Honestly, I don't think many coilover companies do as much R&D as nissan.

I know what you mean. I think the idea is to make the rear end tighter. I did a test fit on the front and it fits great, no issues. I should be able to put them in tomorrow if I can get an appointment with nissan the next day to do a wheel alignment and make sure the camber/toe is good to go. I'll also right a thread on fitment, weight (need to buy scale), and install. This will help ppl have confidence in the install when the shock and spring are together. If I cant get an appointment then ill be installing it on thursday and go to nissan on friday.

I would say make sure they sent you the right part number(s). They could have inadvertently sent you the wrong coilover set. I find it surprising that an aftermarket company would design the coilovers with components that are not direct replacements (shocks and springs separate) for the intended car. That's like trying to reinvent the wheel, even after the car manufacturer has done their homework. Good luck with the install.

Install at your own discretion. Take a look at the tower brace and you might see that there are no reinforcements there.

That's right, the front strut has 3 bolts and the strut tower is reinforced. The rear strut is secured only by 2 bolts, and like cab83 says, not reinforced. No way it can sustain the load born by both the strut and springs. I'm sure this would raise some red flags for the mechanic at Nissan too, when he sees this.

I'll talk to the vendor and see if I can send them back. If not then i'll call Ksport and ask WTF is up and tell them the stock number to make sure the parts are correct. This is why I didnt even want to remove them from the box in the first place but I did to see if they were even the correct ones. A guy on the forum with HKS hypermax told me that his 350 had the same setup but the brand included a bar to put in place of the OEM springs, he never mentioned any problems. I'm dissapointed, coilovers is such an easy install...

and i had to wait 3wks for these to only get made

Check this bullsh** out. THMotorsports had them listed for the 370z but its for the 350z!!!. I took someones advice and checked out there sight and its not for the 370Z. Yea, im throwing THMotorsports under the bus. I paid $1,100 for specail order, waited 3wks for them to be made, another week to ship to my mom's house, 1.5wks to get to me, and my mom WAISTED $144 dollars to ship them to me here in guam. I want ALL my money back and my mom's!! Pretty sh**ty cuz my mom did that for my birthday, i normally pay for shipping.This may be a little harsh to some, but this is how I feel. I also don't care the 350 and 370z suspension is comparable or not, its not listed so im not keeping them. What a way to start my build.

I'm pretty sure the ones you got are for the 370z. The 350z front shocks looks like a fork, the 370z has the socket design. My explanation is probably confusing. If you want cheaper coilovers you should get bc.
