Lucky you and I heard you sprung for control arms. Be interested in seeing your before and after alignment printout. Seems no one ever posts these up anymore.

Front does not look that bad. I think I did a good job calculating the length of the arms. Rear is another story though, I can tell just by glancing that there's difference on camber between the 2 wheels. Rear camber is already adjustable on stock arms and having an extra adjusting point on the spc arms just makes it harder to calculate. I could have done a better job by being more careful, measuring and marking but it was 2am and I wanted to get it done haha. I will post my sheets once I get the aligment done.

Man I called just in time as the tech barely put the first spring on. I told him about the OEM sleeve that needs to move over to the new spring. Phew! Stinks I won't get to see my car done until sometime tomorrow (been almost a month without the Z).
I'm crossing my fingers the new tires will work out, and hopefully I can get away without a camber kit for a short while. We'll see how alignment goes tomorrow.

Baer I did about 25miles today on the springs. Rear wheel gap is gone but the front is still there. There's like 1.5 - 2 inches between the tire and the fender. Is it supposed to be like that? From the pics I've seen I'm guessing (hoping) they will settle more

Just got mine installed today and the drop so far looks like an inch all around. The springs did come with instructions to use the oem sleeve on the new springs and it even had a photocopy of what it should look like. As long as your installer sees that it should be fine.
I can definitely see some noticeable negative camber so I'm planning to get an alignment in a couple weeks. I suspect with the amount of driving I do, the springs will probably settle in by tomorrow lol. So far it doesn't look like I'll have any rubbing issues with 19x9.5 +30 front with 245/40 tires and 19x10.5 +8 rear with 285/35 tires. Only issue I have now is scraping on my driveway lol Edit: Oh yea btw, the ride on these is very similar to stock and not harsh at all. Also feels like it absorbs road imperfections better and not as bouncy. I got these mainly for the drop so any performance improvements is icing on the cake.

Sounds like there is some initial driving required to get the springs to settle.
Ron, sounds like you went the string and srting bubble level toi get the initial alignment...props...you have more patience than me. Digitonium and Baer383, thanks for the reminder about the OEM sleeve. There is a pic posted earlier on this thread or maybe the other thread. Glad Swift is including a cheat sheet in the box. Digi...what tire did you go with and sizes? tsolin01, thanks for the feedback and tire sizes, this will help me in deciding which size to go with. bigdog1250, I will get the alignment sheets over to you before the weekend. My order is due on Weds. |

Crap I didn't. So, take the wheels off, loosen the camber arm bolts, raise the susp with a floor jack and then tighten the camber arm bolts. Right? How much should I raise it, until shock and spring are fully compressed?
