My impressions after a few days

Pros:

Car looks great, it will look even better once I swap it out with my new wheels (G-Games 99B +22 offset).

Handling is definitely improved although I have yet to drive a good twisty road.

Normal road bumps seem to be handled like the OEM springs

Cons:

I have to take a different entrance into my parking lot at work. There is a good size dip that I can't navigate easily without scraping.

The car seems to be bouncy with height changes on the interstate (for example before a small bridge). I lower my speed when I see them and don't scrape but I was hoping that the springs would handle these situations better.

I have yet to tackle a speedbump but I will have tomorrow to see how that goes. No allignment yet so I can't comment on if I will need a camber kit.

If anyone is experiencing different results from me, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Finally, what is the proper method for measuring my ride height?

Thanks!

I will post pictures this weekend once I get my new wheels put on.

Measure from the center of the wheel to the top of the wheel well outter lip.

DO NOT measure from the floor it is very inaccurate.

I got a nice new scrap on the right side of my front bumper today. Focking speedbumps.

What cambers did you buy? Can you send a link or ebay link, thanks.

Pictures - New Wheels!

Here are three pictures of my new wheels (G-Games 99B +22 offset). I had my Swift Springs installed last week and am getting an alignment tomorrow.

Any opinions on spacers? I am thinking that I don't need anything for the front but maybe a 10mm for the rear would complete the look?

I'd do a 5 or 7.5 up front, probably 15 out back. But it is hard to tell from the pics.

The Z looks great Alto! The drop looks great, the front offset looks ok while the rear could definitely use a 10 of 15mm spacer. You can take some more pictures at angles like these to help us give you better recommendations:

To avoid cluttering up this thread with lots of pictures, I started a new thread:

Rear camber kit looks like a given, what is the vote on the fronts?

KamiSpeed 07-25-2011 10:48 AM

most my customers go with rear if they upgrade... the only ones who do front are usually more concerned with more performance upgrades than just getting the camper right
