However, the OE Sport Akebono's are not at the top of the performers list for stiffness and response, so they are not an automatic choice. If you can get a set cheap, then I'd say go for it. If not, then either upgrade what you have with one of the better rotor options, SS lines, better fluid (like AP Racing Formula 5.1) and better pads. Take the money you save and put it elsewhere, or save it towards a true BBK if you decide down the road to track the car more.

Thanks Chris, I saved this for future reference. I won't be doing anything brake related for a little while so I have time to watch out for any fair priced Akebono kits that may come up for sale (have to get new wheels first, they won't fit on base 18"ers)

They do fit on base 18's. All 2009's models shipped to Australia where configured that way.

I was misinformed, that is nice to know the Akebonos fit with the 18"ers. I am finding out that I need more tire though because the car breaks the tires loose in first and I spun completely through second. I am still on the lookout for Nismo rims but I might go with something from Advan or Enkei so the added traction can help me out in all regards.
