Lowering kit

You don't HAVE to have a camber kit to put lowering springs on. But if you want to run OEM alignment settings you HAVE to have a camber kit to

You don't HAVE to have a camber kit to put lowering springs on. But if you want to run OEM alignment settings you HAVE to have a camber kit to do so. When I put my springs on and had alignment done 2 weeks later i was far from OEM specs... There is some adjustment there to work with stock.. but not near enough to get to OEM specs. Sure you can get it as close as you can and the car will prolly still perform fine... But I can honestly say that after I put my camber kit on and got the front & rear back in to OEM specs the car seems to perform better in all categories... I can't remember exactly what my settings with springs (before the camber kit) were but I think I was at -2.5 in the rears and -1.5 in the fronts... OEM for my Nismo is -1.58 rear & -.58 front. Even with the camber kit I'm can't acheive OEM across the board due to the fact that the toe is affected by the springs also so I had to settle for a happy medium between camber and toe. Which is why I'm also looking for a toe kit. But anyways my point is you don't HAVE to have a camber kit... but if you don't it probably just means some extra wear & tear

Looks like Im going to do a front and rear camber kit along with springs. Now only if someone could put together a kit with everything included....like an Eibach kit would be great.

I think the best price is around $500 for the kit. I'm sure you can get it all for around $750ish.

I can get the springs and the rear camber kit for around $350 and Im working on a price for the front camber kit. Im thinking I could get everything for around $600-$650.

the front and rear are about 500 and the springs are 200-250. I think 650 is cutting it close.

did u not read my whole post? I have a camber kit front and rear... Meaning I was suggesting you should do it the right way. And you do HAVE to have tires on your wheels. Very poor analogy and poor assessment of what I clearly stated.

I think the tolerance of each car is different that some can get away with a .8" drop without a camber kit. Some will not and will need them. IMHO OP get the springs, get them installed and get an alignment. Then make your decision from there if you will need front or rear kits.

This is what you said. Where did you suggest to have them? To run a proper setup you need them. Not to would be silly. So why would you state you don't HAVE to? Because you have one doesn't suggest to get one.

I think you are being a little bit too knit picky here. What he is saying is that you do not need a camber kit. And he is right. But if you don't, expect uneven tire wear and replacing tires sooner than normal. Some like to run some neg camber. And a little is not too bad. But if you want OEM spec alignment, spend the $500+ on a camber kit.

But the point I was trying to make is, that on some cars, the alignment will be barely out of spec so a little neg camber will be fine and will most likely not wear out tires much faster than normal. So save the $700 camber kit/install fees... (ie Eibach Springs--some say it was very close to being in spec)

IMHO If your car is not your DD I think not having a camber kit would be ok... I ran a 1.2" drop on my Infiniti G35 coupe and had no camber kit on it. Camber was off but not too bad. Maybe an additional -1 degree front and rears. Tires lasted 36K miles. Not too bad!

But the problem is the camber and toe especially wont be the same from side to side. You really don't want to have 1.5 degree of camber on RF the 2.1 on LF. The camber and toe are not going to be the same side to side. Then toe even an 1/8 of an inch will wear tires fast. You wouldn't want to cause a plow effect.

I am being a little picky, I know. I've had alot of bad tire wear experiences in the past due to alignments and bad mechanics doing there job half a$$. I've just always took it serious. I'm sorry though, I hope I haven't come off to bad. I just want people to make the right decisions and have there car copacetic.

You just qouted my last sentence! Try qouting the whole paragraph or just the second sentence in particular. And thank you tjlazer for clarifying what I pretty clearly stated. If you want OEM specs get a camber kit. If you don't care then don't. You don't even have a Z, let alone lowering springs or a camber kit for it. So don't come on here telling someone who does that they are wrong or right. I simply shared my experience with lowering springs and camber kit and how I chose to do it the right way. Nice life
