Stillen sway bars and bushings....
I just got my Stillen sway bars installed and I'm really surprised how much of a difference they make. I though the car handled really well but the bars make a huge difference especially with agressive driving (eg take it on the track/course). This is an excellent bang for the buck suspension upgrade and I highly recomend it if you push the car at all.
I assumed that the bars would come with bushings so I called Stillen to inquire. They recomend using the stock bushings unless the car is being tracked, etc. Energy Susepension doesn't make a bushing set for the 370Z that I could find but there is a universal greaseable bushing that should fit the Stillen sway bars if you need that little bit of extra resistance that the urethane gives you. They are $16 a set at Summit... in red of course ;) Energy Suspension 9-5161R - Energy Suspension Greasable Sway Bar Bushings - Overview - SummitRacing.com Energy Suspension 9-5159R - Energy Suspension Greasable Sway Bar Bushings - Overview - SummitRacing.com |
Urethane bushings are somewhat of a personal preference for end users. They tend to squeak, and ultimately we would receive tons more complaints than happy customers, for those driving on the street or not expecting the additional noise.
So we reduced the price of the sway bars and left them out, but can supply them for customers who want the additional firmness. Glad you're happy with the sway bars! |

OP thanks for the info on the urethane bushings. I'll have to check them out.
I also have Stillen sway bars on my car along with Nismo shocks and springs. So far I've been real happy with the set up. I have found though that I prefer the rear sway bars in the softer setting, especially with the Nismo suspension pieces. The firmer setting makes the car just a little to tail happy for me. Josh, what is the cost of the Stillen urethane bushings? Also any idea if Stillen is going to make an oil pan for the 370Z? I have the Stillen oil pan on my 350Z and love it. In my opinion another quart of oil capacity would significantly help the oil temp issue in the 370Z without having to resort to an oil cooler. |
