Coilovers
Hey all. I had the Stance coilovers installed on my car a few months back. I have under a 1 inch drop on my car right now. Occasionally when I go over uneven surfaces in the road ( like turning into driveways at an angle, or going over the drainage 'paths' in neighborhoods), I hear a THUMP from my rear suspension. It is not hitting the ground, but sounds as if a part of the coilover is hitting the fenderwell.
Has anyone experienced this? Any idea what is it? |
It could be the spring mount isn't flush with the frame of the z. Is the noise on the passenger side?
|
It is on both sides actually... Does not happen much, ONLY when I turn into my neighborhood, or come into my driveway at an angle quickly..

I agree. I had a similar problem in the past with another car. Take it back to where you had them installed and make sure the springs are lined up properly with the mount. |
Thx all!!

Mine do the same. Occasionally though. I will have mine looked at soon too.

This is probably an easy fix. Try jacking up your car and seeing if the bottom collar on the rear spring that's affected is loose. Usually this is the culprit.
Otherwise your spring could be rotating or dropping in it's seat. Dialing in/out the preload on the shock will solve that. Good luck! |
Was there a resolution to this and if so, what was it?

yeah i would like to hear the results on ur check up becuz i have the same problem with my megan coilovers
|
to be honest, the guys at Intense fiddled with it and determined the sound was the rebound of the coil I think.....
i do not hear it all the time any more..... |
