The question I would have for anyone considering an OTS offering at Ohlins prices is why? If you're paying that kinda of money you should be going with a custom setup (spring rates, valving, N2 fill pressures, etc.) to meet your specific needs. Also, I'd be cross shopping with Penske, Moton, AST, and JRZ.

Of that list only JRZ offers something withing +/-10% price range. Penske won't even talk to you for less then 10k Moton is close at 3.8k AST could custom make something but that would be way over 4k This is in the low to mid 3k range, sure there are people who can and will throw the cost of another 370z at just the suspension but this is still within reason and a step up from KWv3s, not that those are bad but this is a new option for people at add to the list that most were not even aware existed because it didn't till this year.

For those price points. Think JRZ's. I like the JRZ RS Pro Sport with 2 way adjustment.

Additionally, a set of single adjust AST's are probably only around 2.5-3k for a set. Biggest trick with most of the shops/manufacturers in the shock world is to CALL THEM. For whatever stupid reason most have a poor online presence but once you call them you'll get the answers/info you're looking for.

You can get the Ohlins for far less than $3K. The prices on the Ohlins Japan website are their version of MSRP. KTS is running a sale so they come in less than $2500.
The AST's, once you option out everything, are almost $4K. The Aragostas are essentially the same setup with their own spring, proprietary housing and coating. The internals use lots of AST parts which is why they can rebuild them right here in the states. You can buy them at the below link, same place where you can get Aragostas. The one advantage I see to the Aragostas is the side adjuster on the rear. No need to drill holes to adjust the rear shocks. I know for some that isn't an issue but for anyone running a G37/Q60, it's a necessity due to no rear shock tower access up top. Link: https://www.kts-web.com/ec_shop/prod...roduct_id=8498 Personally, I'd go for the double adjustable Aragosta Type SS if I had to do it all over again and specify my own spring rate. https://www.kts-web.com/ec_shop/prod...roduct_id=8752 Go here to contact them in English. http://www.kts-web.com/overseas/contact/index.html You'll need to give them the exact part number. They ship quickly if it isn't a holiday and their English is decent but not perfect. Various states have different importation fees. In Texas, it was like $50 total.

Watch I bet sales suck and just like most big corps today some overpaid moron bean counter at HQ is going to go see I told you it was a bad idea to ever release 370 kit and then they'll fire the guy who finally pressed them to make a 370 kit as they missed the bus and we all already have our kits. Sad when really the 350 and 370 are so similar most companies spent pennies to make a 370 kit when all the r&d was spent on the 350. |

I agree with you guys, experiences vary drastically from season to shop. One shop will basically not care as soon as they hear Nissan, another might be bothered if you give them a lot of time or extras, while another will go out of their way to make everything right at a good price. And as has been mentioned online presence is on the level of a phone book, "call for information and pricing".
I just comparing MSRP's as a base line; the more patience and searching the better deal you can find.
