I'm looking to drop my car a little bit. But don't want to pay for coilovers because I think they would more then I need cuz I'll probably never go to a track. Sooo, what springs do you all think would be best? I'm keeping my stock wheels for awhile, probably gonna put spacers on to get more flush, and the car is only going to be driven in warm weather. Its getting parked in a shop in winters.

Eibach for about an inch drop. If you do lower you will need expensive front and rear camber kits.

seems like H&R's are popular too here... i'd prefer to run new dampers if i get lowering springs... keeping my fingers crossed that hitachi (tokico) does D-Specs for us.

Yes and at a 1.2" drop you are going to need front and rear control arms to correct the camber. With the Eibach you can probably get away with no camber kit with minimal camber issues. I hear maybe just for the rear...

But I'm really waiting for a manufacturer (ie: Koni yellow) to produce adjustable shocks. The stock shocks are too soft for my liking.

The h&r's look really good. But with the camber kits its almost in coilover range. But I hear eibachs are real soft and cause a bumpy ride. So I going to keep waiting for replies. Havnt heard anything about teins yet? I'm leaning towards h&rs right now though.

I've had eibachs on 2 of my previous cars but they got super bouncy over time and handling was adversely affected. I swore to never go with eibachs again. I am also looking for something that drops ~.5" f/r so i don't have to use a camber kit. I've had excellent results with h&r/neuspeeds in the past but the h&r seems like it drops a bit too much and neuspeed doesnt make springs for nissans.

Not true. I swapped out the eibachs with neuspeed/h&r and the ride was perfect again on same shocks. Eibachs are known to have this problem (atleast in the honda/acura community) and i was one of the test dummies that found out the hard way.

I've had a very good experience with H&R's with my S2000 with stock shocks. Drop wasnt extreme however, <1" drop.
I was leaning towards Eibach with the 370, but with the reports of the springs going/feeling soft after some time, I've decided to drop the car properly and go with KW coilovers. I originally was going to go just KW V1's with just height adjustibility, but in instead of taking my chances with not liking the ride dampening, decided to go KW V3's. I hadn't considered H&R's for the 370 since the the drop just looks too extreme for the roads up here in Canada. I'd probably be scraping all over the place! |

The Tein S-Techs provide a very nice drop (.9 front/.7 rear) and upgraded handling without dropping so much as to necessitate a camber kit.
We have some in stock and could get a set out to you today if needed ![]() |

Could anyone clarify whether the Tein springs are infact a 1.5" drop or whether they are as stated on their website specs - NISSAN 370Z
Based on the website specs being .87" front and .75" rear - would i need to run camber kits? Also does anyone have the approximate drops of the H&R springs? Any help is appreciated. |
