Guys with the H&R drop, what is the distance from the floor to the car?

We got pretty harsh regulations in Australia and if it's less than 100mm at the lowest point of the car, it's unroadworthy (illegal).

Love how these look and love that the ride feels like OEM.

Any help on this would be appreciated!

100mm = 4 inches? I'm fairly sure that this drop brings clearance down to less than that.

370zee 07-01-2010 12:34 AM

dam...

does anyone know (or can check for me) exactly how much clearance there is?

Thanks for the feedback

The front bumper is 3 1/2 to 4 inches (depends were you measure) from the ground. The sides skirts are 4 3/4 to 5 inches (again depends were you measure) from the ground. This is on stock Sports from bumper and stock side skirts.

Hope this helps. These springs do get the front LOW but not slammed.

EDIT: this is on 19x9.5F & 19x10.5R Volk wheels. i dont think it will make a difference bit id figured i should mention it.

Kevr6 is running 20x9.5 f 20x11 r with H&R springs, also claims he doesn't rub after removing the plastic flaps.

SuperZeto 10-21-2011 12:53 AM

Wow! Those look great... Why spend $1000 on coils when your car can look just as good for half the price... I'm buying H&R's this week! But yes, plz post more pics of your car. :)

Is that a good or a bad thing?

azn370z 10-21-2011 05:37 PM

My fronts don't rub now even though the wheels are pushed out about 5 mm more than when I had sport wheels with spacers. My front tires look a little stretched though. I'm still happy with h&r.

mikey1600 11-09-2011 11:32 PM

any vendors still carry these springs? finding it very hard to get these in Aus..

KillerBee370 11-09-2011 11:58 PM

You're gonna be scraping everywhere you go. That's about the same stance as my car maybe even a bit more once you settle.

No reason to shell out the big bucks on coils if you're going for a certain look. Unless you are going for performance of course because the race is in the rebound.

Put H&R springs on my 09 Touring w/out sport package this past weekend. Loving it. Noticed improved cornering immediately. The drop is awesome. Will have some better pics after a bath and wax.

Original H&R thread...
http://www.the370z.com/brakes-suspen...gs-anyone.html

that looks great, exactly what I want. You can probably judge this better because it is your car, but would you say your drop is similar to this even in person and not pictures?

azn370z 12-11-2011 05:03 PM

Kevr removed the rubber lower mount, that's why the rear has a bigger drop.

Hi, I see you have H&R springs too, would you say the drop is similar? I want the drop to look like its on coils but no so low to the point where I can't drive it anywhere.

Also, what are some possible problems with removing the rubber lower mount?

azn370z 12-11-2011 05:21 PM

The rear will look higher, maybe a little more than a 1/2 inch gap. I'm not sure what the problem might be. Maybe more wear and noise?

The front has a bigger gap on the black car vs my car. Opposite for the rear.
I now have KW V3 coilovers and decided to run the same height. I only adjust lower for shows!! ;)

Filipeanutz 12-11-2011 05:30 PM

nice...looks like im getting H&R springs too on the next paycheck.
and some spacers...most probably...but definitely the springs.

Ni55anPat 12-11-2011 07:28 PM

anybody wanna trade for BC coilovers? 4k miles...PM me :)

Removed what? What exactly are you talking about?

azn370z 12-11-2011 09:34 PM

The rubber piece that sits below the rear spring.

Correct. When I had the springs it allowed a few mm lower stance on the rear.

I wouldn't go taking that out. That puppy's there for good reason. I had it out when I put my coilovers in. Metal on metal and that spring moves around. Not good. Now with coils of course I could adjust the ride height where I wanted it once I had it back in place but then.... I was thinking of performance rather than looks. To each their own.
