Looking good man...Spacers are needed though

jmlenz 06-01-2010 11:02 PM

Just swapped out the Megan coilovers for H&R springs. Loving the OEM like ride again! About the same drop height as my coilovers too.

Alright...you guys have changed my mind from getting eibach to h&r. LOL

Bster 06-02-2010 04:01 AM

My ride dropped on H&R (as well as 20mm spacers F/R) as well after seeing Kevr6's Z.

Am I the only unlucky fool here who has to fight his wife for some springs. This thread is killing me.

Have any other pics? I'm just trying to get an idea of whether I would want 20mm spacers or something else with the H&R springs. Also, I assume the consensus is that rear camber control arms are needed for the rear but not necessarily the front?

azn370z 06-02-2010 06:58 PM

I have pics with 20mm spacers in my 370z folder.

speedworks 06-02-2010 07:08 PM

Any of you H&R guys have the FI exhaust? If so, any scraps yet?

I have the Invidia Gemini which is similar to stock exhaust and i have hit once on a speed bump but this bump was a monster. Wasn't much room either to hit it at an angle so i had to go straight up.

I feel that at this height I'm still good for driving around these L.A. streets any lower and i would hit everywhere. My sport chin spoiler pretty much hits quite often (light scrapes).

tjlazer 06-02-2010 09:11 PM

Looks sick. But dang, that is too low dogg. LOL

Remove your front splash spoilers that hang down in front of your tires= no more scraping! ;)

Thanks, looks great. If you had to do it again, would you stick wih 20mm spacers? I'm not sure if I want 15mm or 20mm. Or maybe 15mm front, 20mm rear.

I have 15 front, 20 rear. If I could do it over again I'd probably do 20mm all around.

Jamaica 06-03-2010 01:06 AM

:eekdance:I should have gotten H & R springs. The eibachs are kinda bouncy now

The front wheels are tucked in a little even with 20mm spacers, which I'm happy with. I think 20mm is the minimum. Lowering the z without spacers will make the stance look weak.

You mean the eibach's have gotten less stiff over time??? :ohsnap1:

kenchan 06-03-2010 11:57 AM

i think wat he means is his eibachs are overwelming the stock damp rate (ie over sprung).

to lessen spring rate you can change wheel rate by pushing out the wheels... that will soften things up a bit.

Ya had the springs for about a month and still a lil bouncy.Bouncy *** cali roads

craniac24 06-03-2010 01:03 PM

After about 6 weeks, my Eibachs are starting to feel a little bouncy too.

Height wise, I think the drop is perfect though. Probably will have to buy some aftermarket shocks.

wishihadnav 06-03-2010 05:20 PM

just threw some H&R's on mine today and its low...finger gap in back and maybe half a finger in front..it hasn't even settled yet..haha!

how would you describe the ride quality?

I Run L.A. 06-03-2010 10:13 PM

Ok so i finally got around to installing my wheels. Remember dropped on H&R springs no camber kit yet or spacers.

Here is a sneak peek

^ aaaahhh, come on. Stop being a tease.

Boost_lee 06-03-2010 11:38 PM

^^L.A - I dont know what it is about your car...perhaps its the black paint with shaved front emblem, but it really gives me the vibe of the old school Z's.

I love it

craniac24 06-03-2010 11:39 PM

Very nice. You might need spacers. Maybe 5mm in the back, but otherwise its a great stance!

I recommend rear camber arms!! You'll have one-sided wear on your rear tires!!

i think it has to do more with the toe-in. my G has more camber than i-run's car... and wearing pretty much flat. plus the added insurance of not sliding the rear is good too. :p

I Run L.A. 06-04-2010 04:51 PM

ill try to get pics of the rear so you can see the camber in the rear..

I already wore a set of rear tires out!! Trust me! ;)
