Nismo Brake Failure

That's what I was talking about. I had a 2003 G coupe with the first generation brake pads before they modified the material for longevitiy. It stopped much better than my Nismo.

So does anyone know if all Nismo's have the upgraded sports pads, or only a certain build date have them. I understand the Nissan sport pads are better than the stock akebono pads.

The NISMO pads are a dealer add-on, AFAIK.

So when they say Nismo and the sports package having better brakes just mean the caliper and the rotor and not the pads?

Correct. All the models use a low dust (and low temperature) organic pad from the factory. The Sport and the Nismo (same calipers) at least have a mild upgrade available via the Nismo pad dealer install.

Nissan is so cheap. If they intended to make a factory track car, why not spend an extra $100 and put better pads on the Nismo.
