6 Pot Brembos installed

So I finally put some time in to install 6 pot Front Brembos I got off Ebay from Vivid Racing and slotted Powerslot/Stoptech rotors up front.

Everything looked easy cheesy except for the way there are 3 SS brake lines 2 routing blocks (see your oem brakes). Total took me 9 hrs to install including lunch break, crosshatching/cleaning oem rotors for storage, and bleeding and bed in drive......dont know where the time went, but probably cause I installed matching rear Ferrodo pads as well.

First thing is that I am impressed with the Brembos!! Quality piece and from Italy!! Very light as well compared to the Sport Akebonos and got a head rush bedding in the pads last night....

Here are some pics not of the install, but of the job. Also are pics of the tools I used to make it a much easier job and less time if you have it...
Took some time to figure how to do it the easiest and cleanest way w/o a lot of brake fluid mess..

1. Take off wheels,

2. Take off calipers with 22mm socket....top bolt is tough to get off and you need to take off the block/metal brake line from the strut and closest to body to manuever. You need to disconnect the banjo bolt/line from Caliper and cap off with a 1/4" vacuum tube to prevent brake fluid leak..

3. You will need to cut the brake shield nearest the caliper bracket supplied by Brembo,...cutoff tool is good, a SHARP CHISEL and hammer is the quickest and fastest... I used a hammer to blunt and sharp edges...

4. Rest is easy,..easier if you have replacement rotors as I bought slotted ones off Riverside Infinity from Ebay...if not, you can use a sander to cross hatch your old rotors or got to shop to have em turned...You will NEED A 10MM HEX socket to mount Brembo bracket to oem location...luckily I had such a tool already...

5. Button up the rest and bleed brakes and test drive to bed pads in..

Result is quicker stopping distance and being track ready..

Tools you'll need: 10mm hex socket or alternative, Chisel and hammer, Anti seize for bolts, torque wrench,..

Done! Just need to bleed and bed in...

Want them. Also on the third pick it looks like there is some paint splatter or something on the left side of the caliper on a gray/silver piece. Is it supposed to be there or did you do that ?

It looks like he sprayed some anti-squeal gel or something on the back of the pad. It's definitely not something that came with the Brembo kit.

The FM1000 pad compound that comes in the 370Z caliper upgrade and the majority of our GT and GTR kits is relatively quiet. Sometimes people just want to take the extra preventative step.

For future reference:

The anti squeal gels/sprays only need to be applied to where the pistons make contact with the brake pads backing plate,...and on calipers that utilize abutment plates, just where the edges of the pad would make contact with the plates. The purpose is to act as a harmonic dampener between the pad and caliper.

Yeah,..I spreaded it out evenly and took off the excess when as it dried off.. comes off easier that way....
