Default EDFC (Electronic Damping Force Controller) WTF!!

I love the idea of electric controlled suspention on the more expensive cars (i.e. M5). Not sure if i am living in the stone age here but I did not know that you could buy after market coilovers with this technology. HOLY CRAP...this is awesome!!

I see that tein offers this setup for about 2.5k. Does anyone else have this?

You just get a little remote with a digital readout and up and down arrows to adjust the stiffness.

4 motors go on the top of the struts.

The difference between full hard and full soft is noticeable. I'm not sure what else I can tell you. You soften it around town, you tighten it for fast driving. Its a pain in the *** to install because you have to run the cables under the carpet to the rear struts.

Its cool, but I didn't like the coilovers. They started making a bit of noise and got pretty annoying. The system is pretty good though. If you guys have questions let me know, I'll try to answer them

You had the Teins? On soft, was it pretty forgiving? And on hard, kidney jarring?

Nice.. looks like they sell a similar product. I am not as familiar with the Cusco brand. Wonder if they are a good track coilover?

What do you mean they were making noise? How long did you drive with them on? Did you autocross with them? What car did you have them on?

Is the EDFC feature something that was really cool when you first got it then ended up being something you didn’t adjust a lot after the initial excitement. I mean I can see myself messing with it a lot (auto cross, street racing – stiff) (trips with the g/f, driving in the city – soft).

Yeah the struts started to make noise after a while. I had them on for like 5k miles. I did autocross. My 04 STI. No actually I used it more often than I thought I would, but thats partly because I lived in the Boston area and the roads are AWFUL there. So I was always switching back and forth between soft and stiff. As far as getting tired of it? not really, I loved hearing the little motors winding up to as they adjusted stiffness.

Are you serious? Cusco is super well known for their suspension stuff.... Coils / sways / chassis reinforcement - you name it

Cusco is one of the biggest name out there yo! Tein, Cusco, Tanabes ... all known for suspension set up.

Although I was actually looking into those EDFC. I hate the fact that I have to pop my hood or go back and change my settings. yes I am lazy... Have you guys seen the Tanabe ones?

Tanabe USA Inc. - Tanabe Electric Active Suspension (TEAS)

It seems like it's active and changes depending on the speed
