Cruise Control Malfunction
Hi Guys,
After some help please. I have a 2014 370z AT Roadster. CC stopped working 2 days ago. It still arms but the switch does not engage CC to hold a speed. I have read the threads on the brake switches. My brake lights still function correctly so I guess that switch is ok. Which makes me think it is the ASCD switch. I have tried the foot under the brake pedal trick and it still does not engage, would this lead people to think it is the steering wheel switch or could it still be the ASCD switch? Is there a fuse, I couldn't find a reference to any in the FSM? Thanks for any guidance you can give. |
No ideas on fuse?

I've had the same issue for 2+ years lol. I just haven't really tried to tear it down to find out. I would like to know what could be causing it though. For me everything on the steering wheel works fine so I don't think it's the clock spring connections. It could be my clutch switch but you have an AT so there might be some drive position sensor.
AUTOMATIC SPEED CONTROL DEVICE (ASCD) details are on the field service manual EC page 62. Their is a surprising amount of systems and sensors involved with just maintaining speed. Nissan 370Z Owners Manual / Service Manuals - Nissan 370Z Forum |
I replaced the brake light switch as it was causing a blinking CC light and the CC was not functioning. My brake lights were still working like the OP also.
My notes also read if it's not the brake light switch "cruise control switch part number 25300-62J0E" |
Thanks for the input, I got to the bottom of it when my brake light went on permanently.
At this point I thought switches at brake pedal. On AT the brake has 2 switches/sensors. one for brake light and one for CC. What I didn't know was that on top of both switches there is a rubber cap. I guess after 200k the rubber gave up the ghost and disintegrated on both within a few weeks of each other. Not surprising as they both are on brake pedal. Nissan in Dubai wanted to replace the entire brake pedal assembly!! Imagine the cost of that for a few rubber caps! Fortunately my garage managed to source the caps from elsewhere and for a few bucks all is good. Brake light goes out again and CC works perfectly. I am guessing when you buy switch in US it comes with cap? Hope this helps someone in future. Cheers |
