Default Base/Sport brake question.

Listen to me.

I'm thinking about getting a 370z - base. I don't want the sport, because I want to put a mechanical LSD in. And I'm not interested in the rev match.

I am concerned about the brakes, though. Can you put the sport brakes onto the base?

Yes you can put sport brakes on the base. I have a set in my garage waiting for me to do just that.

Your best deal would be to get them from a sport owner that upgraded to a BBK. Keep an eye on the classifieds. You can also buy them new.

A sport owner would likely tell you that the sport package is a great deal at $3k and to go ahead and get it for the 19's, SRM, and brakes alone - then replace the LSD with your choice. I would agree with them unless you plan on getting different wheels anyway and don't care about SRM, then skipping the sport package and getting the Akebono kit after the fact makes more sense. Good luck!

Yes, plus you have several options better than that. It depends on what you will be doing with the car.

Is it true that if you want to install mechanical lsd, you need the sidewalls of the stock vlsd? because that is what carbonetics website said. So can you install lsd with no sport package?

Yes, you need the side shafts from a viscous unit or to buy those somewhere.

best bet to buy the sport package. I bought a base 07 350z with same thoughts and wish i just bought one that had it from factory to make it all easier. worth the extra IMO
