Rotors
I have a 370z roadster thats modified.
I installed akebono calipers and 19 inch Nismo wheels I use this car sparingly and it’s shut down in the winter I installed rotors last year that aren’t supposed to rust But they make terrible noise. I greasesd them and bedded Them still noises. They make a scetching noise only when I brake going slowly And I’m going slow. When I’m going fast and brake They don’t make noise. Now that it’s cold outside the noise is Louder. Any help or advice |

First what brake pads do you have? Some make noise normally.

Hey with basically the same brake set-up I use the Carbotech 1521 pads for street Driving. They are silent for me. I also am using the Z1 two piece rotors and the titanium 1mm shims (Hardbrakes.com) to help with heat transfer issues. On track I use XP12/10 pad combo. On the rust issue, mine will do so after only a few days of sitting idle. Normal in my experience. I just drive the car to scrub the rust off the rotors.

To clarify, you are talking about the Nismo pads with orange backing plate, right.
OEM Nismo 370z’s come with just normal Akebono street pads, no different than any sport pkg or base car. Either way, I have had Nismo pads (orange backing plate ones) on a couple of cars, hot cold wet dry OEM rotors 2 pc rotors daily or weekend only…they didn’t squeal. Recently switched the family sedan back to regular low dust pads, used the grease that came with the pad for the rear, AND I didn’t apply enough, the family car squeals like I’m killing a pig every time I reverse.

Yes Nismo with yellow back
I think it’s the rotors but hesitant To change them due to cost. Which rotors should I go with from everyone Experience that won’t break the bank Preferably drilled slotted but not necessary more importantly Minimal rust and silent |

Nismo front brake pads are track pads. They are going to be noisy and talk to you. Nothig is wrong with your rotors. Use pure Silicone brake grease and lube the backing plate where it contacts the brake caliper, the shims, and the slides. Do not glue the pad to the caliper or put it on the anything on the face of the brake pads.

I had the Nismo pad upgrade on mine when I got it. It really didn't make too much noise, just dust. Maybe there is no metal shim or an issue with it?
https://www.bendix.com.au/bendix-new...eyre-important You can try to re-bed them?

Hmm didn't realize the Nismo pads are considered "track duty", actually this is the first post I've seen about them so assume most members aren't fans of them.

I pulled out of the garage and still loud as hell. It’s so loud that 3 houses down can hear it. It’s only on slow cruising speeds like when you’re pulling into a spot or pulling in or out of the garage. It is worst when cold. When I’m cruising at Speeds and stop you don’t hear it . |
