Camber

My camber seems way off. Just wore the insides off of new rear tires in just 9'000 miles. Had dealer do alignment after two weeks of riding on these tires. Went to dealer today to inspect and was told my camber was perfect to the "Z" specs. Should i get camber control arms or coilovers to fix this over-camber ? thanks for inputs .

That looks like toe is out, not camber

KMO-II 06-18-2021 05:45 PM

ohhhh. Thank u. They just told me that as well at the dealer . Now loud knocking like my tire was going to fall off when i drove away. Back at dealer. Sheesh !!

What are the specs?

KMO-II 06-18-2021 09:31 PM

i wish i knew. i believe 3.2 for the rear. He just had it on note paper what the were and what they were adjusted to.

Your camber shouldn't more than -1.8 unless you track. Yeah, that -3.2 camber will wear the insides of the tires.

Anywhere that doesn’t give you an alignment printout is a place you should never trust. Get the ******* results, it’s all on a computer

Rear alignment had a small level of adjustment. Wear and tear can cause alignment to go out of spec.

A damaged component can be replaced but any significant adjustment needs new , adjustable parts, preferably from SPL

i appreciate your input.. Thank you...

Westend Alignment is one of the top track/street alignment shops in So Cal. They don't give you a computerized print out. Just a written alignment spec sheet.

if it has all the pertinent data and it's written, thats one thing

but it sounds like this dude's dealer basically wrote on a scrap of paper camber measurement only AND no real diagnosis or fix, which seems like malpractice

Definitely agree

i'll check my paperwork and see. But when he briefed me , he showed me the techs notes that he had written down.

KMO-II 06-22-2021 06:30 PM

Yeah they showed me the before and after specs on a sheet of paper. My invoice only stated camber and toe out of spec . Performed routine alignment back to manufactures 370z specs. i should've at least asked for those notes . ugh.
