Hello, i tried to install a two piece rotors for the akebonos, but i have a damn problem with them,. the center cap hits the caliper and i can't even bolt 1 bolt of 2... i think it hits by 10mm from the lower section of the caliper.
What do you think? any solution to this? what if i shave 10mm the lower side of caliper? so i can clear the space? as you can see, i marked with a white line where the center cap would end in the oem rotor, and some pictures more about the issue Last edited by taz46; 03-26-2021 at 11:29 AM. |

Looks like the rotor outside diameter is ok. But the hat is wrong. So you got the wrong rotors. Next question. Did your Z come with the 'bono's already on?

it looks like the hat is too big and needs to be 10mm smaller, right now we are in contact so let's see if we can get a new set with the problem fixed. Right now i think there's no brands selling full floating rotors for the Z, i don't know if it's because the Akebono caliper or because it's not worth. If Floating won't work we gonna try Fixed rotors. by the way i haven't showed my Z, it's this little boy: ![]() Last edited by taz46; 03-26-2021 at 05:18 PM. |

Ok, you got the wrong rotors. No questions asked. Did you get the 2 piece rotors for the rear too?

U sure those aren’t R35 rotors?
They look like 2 pc with J-hook slots from Stillen/AP

The rotor disc appears to be the right diameter, but the hat seems to wrong sized or design....almost feels like it’s a R35 hat mating to an 355mm AP rotors....

They checked it and the hub can't be smaller so there's no fix at it. So i guess i will need to return the discs. |

Yes return it.
Is DBA not available to you without the hefty shipping cost associated with US based brands?

yes dba is available , the conversion EUR to USD is something like 840$. to me it's a bit expensive for a fixed rotors, but i think it's the only option right now for two piece rotors. It's a shame here in europe the z is a non existent car ![]() |
