Surface cracks, like those, just need to be monitored. They don't mean the rotor is significantly damaged or needs replacing soon.

Good question..i noticed that theres much more deposits right after the slot. Like it shaves a bit off and then those shavings get baked right on.

The rotor/pad set up is brand new, installed (along with Akebono calipers) from the Z base brakes just a few months ago. I also have the 2" ducting and SS lines.

I'm aiming for another track day next week and am still getting my bearings straight with brake styles/management; I'll see how that holds up. Track season is almost over for me anyways so once fall comes around, I'll remove the fronts and inspect them/consider resurfacing for another attempt at proper bedding. I'll definitely look into other pad combos too.

Endless XM72 pad rear - with 10k miles.
Nismo front Pad - with 15K miles.
Z1 rotors.

The fronts have never looked any different than they do now.

The rear have had some hot spots, in the very beginning of their service life.

Over 150 stops from over 100 mph at the dragstrip.

I know that is not the same as a road course use, but I am pleased so far. The fronts have just a little steering vibration so its about time to turn those.

I bought solid fronts for the reason that they are easier to turn than slotted.
