Cool Dreaded Coilover Discussion (but with a twist)

Okay so next week I plan on ordering HKS Hipermax IV GT for my Z. I am on stock 18 inch base model wheels. (which I plan to change to RAYS in the near future) but my question is how can I make the car look half decent on stockies while its lowered on coils for a bit. I have been thinking of doing the Z1 rear traction/camber arms. not sure what to do for the front if anything? A little context for this as well, my end goal for the car is all about performance, so I am not trying to slam the sh!t out of my car for looks but I just don't want it to look goofy while I wait for funds for wheels and tires. any suggestions would be great (spacers, camber arms, front or rear?) Thanks!

Agreed. For the time being though, I would focus on getting the alignment in check, post install. You will need FUCA and at the least rear camber arms. If you go too low, you may need endlinks F/R and toe items (toe arms or mid links depending on if you go true coilovers or a divorced set up). I didn't need either, but I didn't slam the car. This will also aid in planning ahead for more aggressive wheel/tire combos.

I'm lowered on swift springs. Had to get fucas and rear arms to get camber in check. I went w SPL. Pricey but awesome quality.

SPL everything, not even a choice, its mandatory. Race proven across multiple platforms and they've been doing Nissans forever. Customer service is top tier

Get everything and throw it all at once, do one alignment

It only looks are concern, then with 1-1.5" drop it will look OK on stock 18".
Not perfect, but definitely not embarrassing. Fronts are a bit narrow and seem to be too recessed.

Regarding alignment-other posters already contributed.

Hey thanks for the input! SPL looks awesome. and of course I do NOT want to cheap out, but what are your opinions on Z1 FUCAS and rear camber arms? only reason I ask is because my Z probably wont see much track time mostly street use, so would SPL really be necessary? I'm not a genius in this sort of stuff so I don't know the pros and cons between the 2. I took it as SPL is for racers and Z1 is for street use. Please let me know your thoughts!

Thanks guys!

there is a reason why we recommend SPL they are the best
for the same reason we DO NOT recommend Z1. They have failed before. There was a manufacturing run in which there were defects. Also, i believe SPL has greater adjustment

Alignment techs LOVE SPL because they are easy to work with

SPL is not for racers

SPL is for people that want to do it right

massive adjustment range
durability
ease of adjustment
customer care

and if you wanna be baller, get the Nismo version. Same thing as SPL but with different colors (black/red/silver instaed of blue/silver/black)

Stop thinking

go SPL

the adjustment range on SPL lets you run damn near any wheel/tire setup you want.

Haha nice. I aint a baller that's for sure. I'll stick with the standard ones for sure. Guess SPL it is. Thanks for the info I would've done Z1 otherwise.

Used components pop up on the for sale forums

Also, there are vendors here who can beat their website pricing

B2autodesign gave me a really good price for my fuca's and front Hotchkis sway bar. You need to call them and mention that you're a member here.

I've gotten some of my SPL parts from THMotorsports and some from IPP. Both offer better pricing than Z1, with much better shipping pricing.
