Ah ... they're not going to be cheaper then Stoptech, the Stoptech rotors for $400 are 1-piece (no weight savings) not 2-piece like these.

I'm interested but is it just me or do those rear hats have the E-brake pads riding on aluminum? Thats like something the Russians would do (watch more Top Gear if you find anything wrong with this comment). Any possibility of fitting a steel sleeve in that bore?

so your saying the slotted stoptechs weigh the same as the heavy stock sport package rotors?

Well I guess you were right about it being alot more for the 2 piece slotted rotors, I found a third opition for slotted rotors: RacingBrake Two-Piece Rear Rotor Slotted Nissan 370Z Sport 2009 I really hope that is for 2 rotors, lol

Yes they weight exactly the same as stock, I had the front ones and compared the weights during installation.

You don't want a full floating 2-piece rotor anyway, just a maintainence headache with no benefit unless you spend 90% of your time at the track. Go with a fixed 2-piece like you found below. You won't save quite as much weight on the rears as the front as most use an iron hat in the rear to support the e-brake function.

We actually make our 2 piece rotors with and without the full floating option. Fixed rotor attachment points and full floating are both available. Although there is no real maintenance differences between the two and full floating rotors benefits both track and street driven cars.

would somone please explain the difference? I know what a floating caliper is, where it compresses with one piston, and pulls the opposite pad towards the rotor, but what the hell is a floating rotor? A rotor you can mount flip on the rotor hat if need be?

To state it simply.....The floating rotors are made and designed to be able to move (float) when the heat builds up in the rotor. As the heat builds up in the rotor the metal expands. A floating design will allow the rotor some room for expanding when hot and contracting back when cooled.
With a fixed or a solid mounted rotor, there is no room for the expanding and contracting movements that the rotor will go through during its heating up and cooling down cycles. Because of this a non-floating or fix mounted rotor is prone to warping much easier than a floating rotor. Floating rotors usually last a little longer as well because of this.

me too, both front and rear to save on unsprung mass. I personally have no use for racing calipers nor can I afford a BBK.

Yes, we offer both the front AND rear light weight two piece rotors as a package, or even just the rears or just the fronts separately a well....

...And yes, our front AND rear rotor hats are both made of aircraft grade forged billet aluminum
