Help Please! Tunnel Stay Bolts
I am about to do my differential bushings. Going under my car, I noticed that the previous owner went over something a little too tall and bent one of the tunnel stay bolts badly so I am going to replace it. Before I pull the brace off to get the bolt size, I want to see if anyone knows the size / thread pitch of these bolts so that I can have them on hand before starting.
Also, if there is a way to find this information, I would be happy to learn where. Lookup Code: 74670A Nissan Part Number: 01121-07351 Thank you! Last edited by turtle64b; 01-07-2020 at 07:37 AM. Reason: Add picture |

I looked over a couple diagrams online yesterday to try and help you out, but unfortunately the best I could find were diagrams similar to the one in your original post. I wasn't able to locate the size or the thread pitch.

Thank you! That's the first place I checked... It gives torque values for the bolt but does not include the part number for the bolt. The next place I went was to find the tunnel brace on a parts website. Once I got that drawing, I got to the bolt call number, which led me to the bolt's part number. I then tried searching by those two numbers to try to find anything specific, but I couldn't.

Let me know if you'd like me to pull one and size it for you. I'm heading over to Fastenal later this week to get some other misc bolts I need for my Z.

I appreciate that! I'm not out to inconvenience anyone to have them take off one of their's for me. Worst case is I will take one off on Thursday and run over to O'Reillys or the like to get more. Thank you!

Tip: Some PDF readers have a "Search all PDFs In Folder" function. Put all the FSM files in a folder and tell your reader to search that folder.

My Z is in the air already, so it's really no inconvenience. I'll be home after a 1:30 appt this afternoon and should have an opportunity then.

Even better, I ran by the Nissan dealership. I got a part number and confirmed that it's available to purchase individually.
Part #54459-1EAOA See attached pic for the size confirmation - I can measure the length if you want, but note the bolt head has a melded washer of sorts.

I broke one of these off using a torque wrench. The shop manual said 24 ftlbs but it broke before that. I should have known it was going to break, too many turns after it became snug.
