Spring length question
 

Recently I purchased Koni yellows with swift spec springs. And while i like the improvement from my 90k mile shocks, I really don't like the height up front.

I'm scraping my bumper all over and dragged it through several turns last week at the track.

I was reading a post here where someone was looking to get a new 7 inch spring from swift for a slightly different reason but it got me thinking..... Would this fix my issue? Could I just get a oem length spring and switch it out? Ideally i would like to get a slightly stiffer spring in front too but overall i just want to quit scraping everything in sight.

KONI Yellow Sport shock are especially designed for cars that are fitted with lowering springs which are shorter than the original springs.

Which means going with a taller spring may **** up the travel that the shock was designed for

its more expensive but height adjustable coilovers are the way to go

or if you want to do it REALLY properly, coilovers and a cup kit

or you can just buy some replacement stock part with fewer miles from the FS section or a local junker

Swift springs don't lower the front much, probably just 1 inch. I think you are just scraping the black rubber piece (sport model) attached to the bottom of the bumper and not the actual bumper.

the black rubber bits are gone, its for sure the bumper. its hanging from the quick release after each session. i just effed up and bought the wrong parts. Koni's are NOT the way to go lol.

does the koni lower the car also?

I have Swift and haven't scraped the actual bumper, mostly just the black rubber piece.

shocks do not lower cars

that explained why he's scraping..... it is strange that the koni shocks only lower on the front. it probably doesn't look that good with the front dropped so much more than the rear.

I found out it lowered the car after i had purchased them.... i honestly assumed it would be very oem based on tireracks description. It doesn't look terrible but its for sure not what i was wanting as far as ride height is concerned.
