Default M7 coilover kit-help with disassembly

Hi all
I just got M7 coilover kit- old stock. They are brand new and I paid silly price for them - $700.

Spring rates are 12/10.(I was expecting 10/8 based on scarce reviews i found) I am currently running Buddy Club Racing Specs true co with 12/5. They are retrofitted 350z kit.
Buddy are with Swift springs which I want to put on M7.
I need help in fuguring out how to dissassemble M7 top mount- adjuster knob is in the way of the top nut and adjuster is spring loaded-pulls out about 5mm and then springs back- what for?. M7 support is non existent....
Thank you for any help!

I suspect that the adjuster knob assembly is removable. Looks like flat surfaces for a wrench right below the actual knob.
