Brake shims

Yes, this is my first time doing brakes, don't judge me too harshly. I'm replacing my pads with stoptech sport pads and I'm not entirely sure what to do with the shims. It seems the new pads come with some sort of shim to begin with, however I'm not entirely sure if I should be trying to put the old shims on top of the new pad shims or what. I attached an image of what the new pad and old shim looks like.

Just use the shims that came with the pads. The old shims, save for a later day.

:iagree:

I recently replaced the sport brake pads.... the new ones have built-in shims and worked quite well without any noise.

I just upgraded from base brake system to Sport/Nismo Akebono calipers and StopTech Sport pads yesterday. Still haven't had a chance to bed them in yet, but I can tell you there's no noise at all so far.
